So many things have happened in the past couple of years that have guided me to this place. Having children opened my mind and heart in ways unimaginable before. I'm very aware of the many blessings I have, but it also gave me a newfound understanding of the many families that are constantly suffering. It's something that I just can't ignore, so I'm taking action to help. When I started doing research for a Change Through Giving project (my charity group for the past seven years, if you're not familiar), I learned that there are entire villages of people who will never have a chance at anything better in life than a constant fight for survival. We purchased filter straws, and the statistics were sickening - mothers who will lose their children before age 5 because they don't have access to clean water. Young girls being raped on their days-long journey to the nearest well to get clean water for their families. Clean water to drink is something I have taken for granted. The home I live in, the car I drive, the food I eat each day - they are all luxuries when there are people living in this world barely hanging on to life because they don't have water; the most basic of necessities. My heart aches at this reality. So I continued my research and learned how much a single well can empower an entire village. It's an investment that can actually work to propel people forward. As many of you know, I am very committed to giving back, but it's so easy to feel like my efforts don't have a real impact. This time though, I am certain of the change providing clean water will create. Please join me. I am asking you, I am challenging you, I am begging you. Anything you can spare will bring me closer to my goal and will bring us all closer to making a very important change.
PS - I don't expect to raise money for an entire well overnight, so I am prepared to make a commitment to give attention to this goal on a regular basis. I plan to come up with creative ways that I can personally save money to allocate to this cause or gain support through fundraising and my efforts to create awareness. I realize how much we are all bombarded these days, and while this is something I am extremely passionate about, I understand that might not be the case for many others. If you wish to be removed from further communication about my efforts, please let me know. No hard feelings at all, and I will still contribute to your cause when you send the request my way :)
Thanks for your time, and cheers to success in achieving this ambitious goal!

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
