Help Fund a Water Project

Together, we can unlock potential in a developing community by providing clean, safe water.
Fundraiser

Welcome to my project. It was inspired by my teacher
who challenged us to find something that violated Human Rights and meant
something to us. I had to think about that one a bit but soon came to the
conclusion that if I did not have clean water, it would gross me out. I
couldn’t imagine drinking dirty water, showering in water that was dirtier than
me or brushing my teeth with awful tasting water. Eew!

I am in grade 9 and live in Manitoba, Canada. I have
one sibling, a dog, two cats and a cow. Yes, one cow. We live in an area where
we have an abundance of naturally clean water. What I didn’t realize is there
are people on this planet that spend their whole day just searching for water,
any kind of water for their families. Kids drop out of school because of water.
More than a million kids a year die from not getting enough water. One out of
eight people do not have access to clean drinking water. What? That sounds
crazy, but it is a reality.

I have to admit that I have always taken water for
granted. I’ve got water bottles that I can fill up right out of my tap. I can
take a shower every day and feel squeaky clean after. Brushing my teeth is
refreshing. So what can I do? How can I make a difference here in Canada for
those in Africa? I am starting with this project and will take on some others
in order to set my goal.

Everyone deserves the right to a clean environment and
it can start with clean water. Please join me in making someone else’s life happy
and healthy…you might just feel a sense of HAPPINESS yourself.

Kristin

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work
we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus Himself said: it is
more blessed to give than to receive.

Why It Matters

Access to clean, safe water unlocks potential

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?

Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!

Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

About The Water Project

The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.

Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.

Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
