For the past few months I made a decision to help thousands of children and families live a longer enjoyable life in HOPES of having clean/safe water for drinking, cooking and bathing. The HOPE of a child staying in school rather than walking for miles for a water source.
Fact: My children have never missed one day of school searching for water and carrying it for miles. When households rely on water sources far from home, someone has to walk to collect it--a task that usually by necessity falls on the women an children of the family. At times a water source is a hole in the ground , and that hole in the ground is half a day's walk away. This means that kids who could be in school spend their days collecting water. Carrying heavy containers of water long distances is not only physically stressful, but extremely time consuming. One of the most serious effects is that children do not have the time to attend school--they may not enroll at all, or they may be frequently absent.
Bad Water=sick kids; Sick=No Kids In School; Kids Traveling Long Distances to Fetch Water=No Kids In School. Lack of Water=Inadequate Health & Sanitation=No Kids In School.
The Good News is that it doesn't have to be this way.
In this endeavor of bringing a better quality of life to many others, my fundraising page will be ending soon. To beat the deadline, April 15th, you may send all donations to the following site:

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
