I have just ended my medical volunteer journey to Arusha, Tanzania. There are no amount of words to fully describe the love I have for the people, the volunteers, and the area. My trip has altered my perspective of the world, showing me a life where people are trying to survive every single day. These people are walking hundreds of miles to reach their destination with little to no hygiene care. Not only that, but there is little to no water. If water is provided for the people, there will be improvements in hunger, health, and poverty. At the hospitals I visited, I cannot express enough how many times tears filled my eyes. I see children and adults having marasmus and kwashiorkor (two types of malnutrition), skin infections, eye infections, and the list never ends.
This is just one country, though, in Sub-Saharan Africa. There are 43 other countries in Sub-Saharan Africa that need our help. Donating will make a huge difference in someone's life. Please visit www.sophtravel.com to read more of my African journey, and thank you for taking your time in helping the cause.
