Help Fund a Water Project

Together, we can unlock potential in a developing community by providing clean, safe water.

Dear friends and families,

This year in teaching has begun with incredible empathy as my kindergarteners became very concerned about the water crisis happening all over the world – specifically in Africa. My five and six-year-olds want to make a difference – and THAT is where YOU come in!

In an early attempt to teach the concept of empathy, I read to them The Water Princess by Susan Verde - the story of a young girl who's days from sun up to sun down are spent walking miles and miles to collect and bring home dirty water. Her family drinks only once a day when the water is boiled and cooled. Because of these daily trips, she is subjected to danger on the road, physical pain, and constant thirst. She will never attend school. Needless to say, the spark for this project was instant in our classroom!

We know that The Water Project is implementing wells and other sorts of innovations to make clean, safe, and reliable drinking water a norm in many communities in Africa. We hope you'll consider joining us to fund a water project!

Please make a donation (every little and large bit helps!) and help us SPREAD THE WORD! Share this page with friends and family, on every social media outlet you can! Every day I do my best to show my students that they are CAPABLE members of our society… Let’s show the world what empathetic, capable kindergarteners can do! < 3

Why It Matters

Access to clean, safe water unlocks potential

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?

Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!

Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

About The Water Project

The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.

Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.

Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
