Help Fund a Water Project
I decided to join the Water Project because I wanted to make a difference in
the lives of the people of Kenya. Growing up, I have always had access to clean
water but just imagining children drinking dirty water everyday makes my heart
break. I want to change the lives of those children, and have them focus on
going to school and developing a good education rather than spending their days
searching for clean water. Worldwide, 1 out of every 5 deaths of children under
the age of 5 is due to a water-related disease and nearly one billion people do
not have any access to clean, safe water. The dirty water they do have makes
them sick and robs children of their hopes, dreams, and futures, but it doesn't
have to be that way. We know that access to clean, safe water changes lives. We
know that when a well is installed for a village, girls return to school, women
begin small businesses, and men are no longer too sick to work. Fields are
watered and food supply becomes more reliable. Health returns and children grow
up to be productive members of their community. The cycle of poverty is broken,
and lives change. Access to clean, safe water isn't an end, it's a means. “When
water comes...everything changes," said a driver as he drove from town to
town on the Water Project’s first trip to Kenya. I have been saving up my money
from birthdays, holidays, and events since middle school for this cause and now
I need your help to make this dream of mine true! Join me and help make a difference

Why It Matters
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
