Mr. Hafner and Liberty Bell Walk for Water
Help Fund a Water Project
Greetings!
My name is Samuel Hafner and I am the principal of Liberty Bell Elementary School located in Coopersburg, PA. Recently our students completed their annual reading program. This year the theme was the upcoming Summer Olympics. I set a very lofty goal for our students: Every student will earn at least one gold medal. If the students achieved this I would then walk to school from my home (12.5 miles). Though the students did not achieve the goal completely, they still earned a total of 1,040 medals which is tremendous! Thus, I have decided to still reward the students by walking to school. But rewarding the students is not the only thing I hope to achieve by this walk...
I am also inspired to be a part of such a worthwhile cause and I hope that you will join me. The Water Project changes lives in a way that is measurable and sustainable. As a parent and an educator, I want to "walk the talk.” I see this as an ideal opportunity to inspire our children to look beyond their own environment at Liberty Bell as we encourage responsibility and generosity.
My walk for water means something to me personally because a lack of access to clean water affects education. If you are sick, you cannot go to school. If teachers are sick, classes are canceled. If you are too busy fetching water, you cannot study. Without clean water it is much harder to grow food, and hungry children are not good students. These struggles make poverty inevitable.
A child dies every 15 seconds from a lack of clean water.
I will be walking on Tuesday, May 29th. Please consider a donation. Every dollar donated through this link will help to fund a designated project in Sierra Leone. Though you may not be able to join me along the walk, let's work together to make a difference in people's lives. You can be a part of the solution. Why It Matters
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
