Help Fund a Water Project
I am creating this fundraiser because I believe it is time I give back. After 20 birthdays, I have received more gifts than I have needed.
This birthday I want to do something I will never forget, something more then unwrap a few gifts, something more than a good dinner from a local restaurant, something more than a few birthday shots from a bar on Dickson street...
This year... I want to give. I want to change someone's life. I want someone else to celebrate life. I want to give someone hope. I want to help someone else reach their goals. I want to make a difference because I CAN! By participating in The Water Project I have the opportunity to help more than one person... I can help change the lives of a whole community!
I remember the day that I thought being 21 meant FREEDOM... it meant I was legally able to purchase an alcoholic beverage from an establishment. Why did I think like this? I am FREE. There are people suffering from lack of clean drinking water and I was anticipating the day I could legally purchase alcohol? Not today.. Today I am far more concerned with the well being of others, because, today we are free, we are healthy, we have FRESH, CLEAN WATER in ABUNDANCE.

I am looking forward to living. I am realizing that living, alone, is a blessing, and that I should be thankful for my good health, my home, the clean water I drink, and the opportunities I recieve.
There are people that need water... clean, fresh water. Could you imagine drinking unfiltered water? Nope, WE CAN'T, because you have never had to think about it. Can you imagine your life depending on water? Nope, once again, WE CAN'T.
Did you know that $10... $10 can provide 1 person clean water for 10 WHOLE YEARS! I want to help 100 people! 100 people with no hope and no solution. I want to help... and I need YOUR help to reach my goal! WE can do this. One man HAS the power to change the world, but one man cannot put POWER into the world with only two hands, one man needs many hands!
Providing these people with clean water will allow them to reach their own goals, receive a better education, prevent disease and sickness, it will allow them to have a sense of peace, but most of all... it will give them LIFE!
So, today I am asking that instead of buying me a drink... will you buy a drink for the people in need? Anything will help, afterall, a shot is only a couple of bucks.
Help me reach my goal- $1,000 and on March 26, 2014, instead of celebrating one life, we can celebrate many lives, and rather than celebrating my 22nd birthday... WE can celebrate the 1st year of OUR WATER PROJECT!

Why It Matters
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
