We are FIRST Robotics team 1601 and have participated in FIRST for 8 years now. Other than building a robot to compete in competition we have goals to help others in need. One of our biggest goals is to help other countries that don't have clean water like we do. We've created a project that hopefully people can help us with.
Project H2O:
Delivering Help 2 Others
The water crisis that is happening around the world is
getting worse every year. Our mission is to spread awareness and help create a
shift in the consciousness. One of our goals is to purchase Dean Kamen’s water purifier, “The Slingshot,” and
donate it to a country in need. Working with the Chair of Fordham University’s
Global Sustainability Department in conjunction with the Coalition for One
Voice and TreeFriends, we recently performed a play based on the water crisis
currently affecting the people of Bangladesh. This season the team has organized
a play as a continuation to Pani Pe Pa Sha. This projected play is presented to
the community to show how devoted and determined we are to spread awareness and
try to make a difference. Through this project, we hope to inform others of the
water crisis and hopefully motivate them to help sponsor technologies that will
better the human race.
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
