Help Fund a Water Project

Together, we can unlock potential in a developing community by providing clean, safe water.
Fundraiser

Back in the spring of 2012, a possibility was created of giving hope to people living in areas without clean water.

Today we have taken a very exciting step. With the funds raised through the initiative by Team RunningWater and donations through Kyuki-do Martial Arts Academy of Huntley, Inc, the goal of raising $7000 is reached. With the money “in the bank,” all $7000 goes directly to begin the actual well project.

Instead of drilling for just one well, in Kenya Africa, we are now able to open two wells through a well restoration project. This gives a double impact. In total, 700 people will receive clean water every day.

For two Kenyan communities, your decision to take The Water Challenge or your direct donation, you have become part of the solution stopping their cycle of disease, poverty, and high infant mortality. $7000 raised, 700 people reached, equals $10 to save a life.

Through the local partnership with IcFEM in Kenya, training in the two areas we directly impact, people will receive education on hygiene, sanitation and how to handle clean water. Not only are “your” 700 people receiving clean drinking water, but through IcFEM 100 schools will also receive similar education. IcFEM assist with long term support; monitoring and rescheduling visits, planning, developments and maintenance.

Coming up, we will select the specific locations in Kenya Africa. Next, you will be able to follow the project on The Water Project’s home page. Under “Find,” type Team RunningWater or Kyuki-Do Huntley’s Fundraising Page in the search box. This allows you to keep track of the progress leading up the day where these communities will begin to receive clean drinking water.

Please stay tuned as new developments takes place.

Again, thank you for your trust in The Water Project.

Feel free to contact me with any questions related to this projects or any future outreach.

Why It Matters

Access to clean, safe water unlocks potential

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?

Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!

Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

About The Water Project

The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.

Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.

Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
