We are very fortunate to live in a place like America, where most of us
have all of the basic necessities- food readily available, clean water,
good shelter, and clothing- health care if we get sick, plus so many conveniences that make life
easy.
Yet there is an overwhelming number of people who don't even
have access to clean water- possibly the most vital human necessity- and
become ill as a result. Life for them is extremely hard, riddled with
harsh climate conditions, poor sanitation, and, in many cases, death. About
10% of the world's population doesn't have access to this most basic
human need.
With virus outbreak like Ebola in West Africa, this need is made even more urgent.
It doesn't have to be this way.
I have begun to realize that, while maybe a well or two won't prevent
another outbreak or eradicate disease and thirst, it may be what many people in a village need to live healthier, more
productive lives.
I believe that it is
our duty to be compassionate and help those who are ailing and in
desperate need. And charities like the Water Project are just one step
in making a large difference in the lives of people worldwide. We can all make small decisions and contributions that add up over time, from saving up money to making small sacrifices to give. And these donations can have life-changing implications for a family in another part in the world. If we can
all pitch in, then, realizing what we can do to improve the conditions of
others, we can fulfill a great mission in this world- the mission
of helping others find clean water where they previously were not able
to get it.

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
