For 1 billion people, safe water is scarce. Like many of you, I am grateful to find myself in a circumstance where I have 24/7 accessibility to clean and safe water.
This year for my 21st birthday, in lieu of a birthday gift, I'm asking for my friends and family to make a donation (however small or great) to The Water Project! Many of my close friends will be familiar with this project, I asked for the same gift for my 18th birthday. This year I'm aiming for a bigger goal to make it a little bit easier for those in desperate need of clean, accessible water.
Although to you and I, water may be dispensable, it is a necessity for survival in communities like sub-Saharan Africa. Many children suffer from water-borne diseases and sacrifice their health and education by walking miles for dirty water.
I hope you'll consider joining me to fund this water project. Every dollar goes towards funding a water well, dam, or rain catchment system for a community within sub-Saharan Africa, eliminating the need for individuals to travel far for unsafe water. With your generous support, we can provide clean, safe and reliable water to a community in Africa. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to each and every one of you in advance! :)

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
