You and I can impact a change on this injustice because I believe everybody deserves some kind of justice, even if it’s as simple as good, drinking water.
Every day in rural communities and poor urban centers throughout sub-Saharan Africa, hundreds of millions of people suffer from a lack of access to clean, safe water. Children often walk miles each day to find water in streams and ponds, full of water-borne disease that is making them and their families sick. Furthermore, in most African cultures, people believe that the place of a woman is in the kitchen, and not in a classroom. Therefore, young girls waste a lot of time gathering water and that discourages many females to go to school due to the lack of time and effort. By providing clean water to those communities, we save time for these girls to utilize their time to invest in their studies and get their education as any girl should. It empowers young females in the community and proves to society that they are more than what they can do in the kitchen.

Once we are done raising money, The Water Project will assign the amount we've raised to a certain project. They will then select a community in need of this water project and begin to work on it. This usually takes 6-8 months after the campaign is complete. Once the project is complete and built, pictures will be sent to us to see the change that we've made!
