I am a hairstylist at Kenneth L Salon & Spa in Poulsbo WA. In conversation with clients, a common topic is how unfortunate it is that such simple things can be done to change the world, but not many people actually act on doing those simple things. Recently i realized how often i talk about it, but haven't really done my own part.

About two weeks ago i pulled into work and noticed a hose faucet dripping water. Every day for the rest of the week it continued to drip. It reminded me of an episode of the Ellen DeGeneres show i watched where a celebrity spoke of their charity that for only 50$ could create a kit that would produce clean, safe water for an entire village that would last a lifetime.

The deaths of 1 in 4 children under the age of 5 around the world is due to a water related issue. I have two children of my own, and it would tear my heart apart to not be able to give them the basics to survive. So today, I decided this is the first step in doing my part. I will raise $1,000 with the help of my family, friends, clients, and community to support the people around the world who don't even have the option to support themselves.

We take for granted our daily showers, or a long bubble bath on a 'stressful' day, our dishwashers, our pools, and the water that runs down the drain when we brush our teeth. Please help me with as small or large donation as your able to contribute and share this amazing experience with me =]

Why It Matters

Access to clean, safe water unlocks potential

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?

Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!

Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

About The Water Project

The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.

Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.

Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
