me in my mitzvah project “The Water Challenge” starting March 9, 2015. It
provides you with a unique opportunity to change a life, to make a big impact
through a small sacrifice.
What is this challenge about? It’s about a promise... a
promise to give it your all for 2 weeks, for the sake of another.
1 promise + 1 wristband= 1 life.
Here is what you need to know:
Every day more than 3,000 children die from diarrheal diseases. That’s over 1
million per year.
most cases, clean and safe water could be made available with a new or
repaired well, or another water project. But often, disease-infested pools
of stagnant surface water miles away are all some people have. Nearly
one-billion people lack access to clean water.
30 seconds a child dies somewhere because he or she didn’t have enough
clean, safe water. They die because they drink untreated water from
puddles, pits, and streams polluted by livestock and human waste.

Why It Matters
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
