A Year Later: "Fetching water has become easy. . ."

A year ago, your generous donation helped the Korobana Community in Sierra Leone access clean water – creating a life-changing moment for Ya Regba. Thank you!

A Year Later:

Forty-year-old farmer Ya Regba Kanu recalled what life was like in the Korobana Community before her community's well was installed last year.

"It was really a difficult task to fetch water in this community. I used to go to the swamp to fetch water before the completion of this project. Also, there was not sufficient water for my palm oil/palm kernel processing. As a farmer, I need sufficient water that I will use for drinking when I am on my farm. This was impossible due to the lack of water wells in this community," said Ya Regba.

Collecting water is now much simpler and less time-consuming for her and the other community members in Korobana.

"Fetching water has become easy since the completion of this well. It is now easy to fetch water because the well is close to my house. The new water well has impacted my life by providing safe and pure drinking water for me. There is also sufficient water for me to use at home," she continued.

Having ready access to water from the well has made a difference for Ya Regba, allowing her sufficient water to take care of her daily water needs and her farm.

"I am able to go to my farm on time, and this will increase my daily income as I have sufficient time to get in touch with the customers. This is possible due to the water well and sufficient water close to me," concluded Ya Regba.
