Jonathan W., 11, recalled what life was like in Sambuli before his community’s spring was protected last year.
"When I was still a very little boy getting water here was not comfortable because we were not able to climb with water easily because of [the] terrain. Before construction, it was an open source where people fetched water using containers," said Jonathan.
But collecting water is much easier for Jonathan and the other community members in Sambuli now.
"The spring has been constructed well. You cannot imagine how horrible it used to be. I come here up to 7 rounds because the access is friendly, and I use little time," said Jonathan.
Having ready access to water from the protected spring has made a difference for Jonathan, allowing him to collect as much water as he needs to meet all of his needs.
"Getting water is no longer a problem. I get water for home and also for my grandmother easily without strain," Jonathan said.
Thank you for helping Jonathan access clean water and making it possible for him to help his grandmother.
Right now, there are others just like him in neighboring communities that desperately need safe water access. Your support will immediately go to work to provide a clean water project - and we can’t wait to introduce you to the next person you’ll help.
