A Year Later: Henry's Building Project!

Before Kadi Spring was protected last year, community members of Elwasambi did their best to collect water, but no matter what they did, it was challenging, and the water was still contaminated.

"[The spring] water was not protected, therefore getting it was very difficult," said nine-year-old Henry.

As part of the spring protection, water access was improved by adding a pipe and stairs to the collection area so community members like Henry could easily collect the safer water.

"The stairs has made it easier to fetch water. I can now fetch water without any problem," said Henry.

Now that Henry can easily access water, he has more time and energy to pour into other interesting projects, like raising animals.

"I have [a] rabbit hutch. I used water from this spring to build it with mud," concluded Henry.
