Before Busingo spring was protected last year, community members wasted much time waiting to collect water since the spring was always overcrowded.
"Before the project, it meant being there as early as 4 am. This was such a hassle and very strenuous," said 31-year-old farmer Rebecca Buhari.
But since the spring's protection, people do not have to rush there early each morning because the spring's access and water flow have improved.
"Now, I do not have to go early. I can go any time of the day and still get my water and complete my chores on time," said Rebecca.
Since water is readily available, community members have time and energy to focus on other important things they've dreamt about doing.
"With [the] ease of access to water, now I am able to keep chickens. Something I had always wished to do," concluded Rebecca.
