Giving Update: Kala Community

"It was very difficult getting water before this project was completed. We would rely on water from scoop holes, which often made us sick; stomach aches, typhoid, and diarrhea were very rampant. It was also very time consuming to fetch water at this water point as there was no time to play," shared 12-year-old Dannis M.

"Now, getting water is easy. It's just a few minutes' walk to the water point. I enjoy pumping water because it is easy and fun. Whenever I am sent to fetch water, it takes very little time for me to get back home with a jerry can full of water. The water is sweet and very fresh to drink."

"I have enough time to play and hang out with my friends after school, unlike before when I had to get out of school and go to fetch water at the river bed, which would take up a lot of my time. I can also complete my homework on time as compared to before when I would go to do it at school in the morning."
