Welcome to Amanzi Awethu!'s Water Project page. The Water Project have the structures in place to help Amanzi Awethu! implement your funds in water projects in Africa. Your donations go directly to them and they will record it all as coming through Amanzi Awethu!. Since The Water Project is a registered NPO, you will get a tax deductible receipt :-)
Please note that all our donors are mentioned near the bottom of this page. If you would like your company/class/club's name to appear, remember to enter it in the "Name" box when donating. Alternatively, you can leave us a little "Personal Message" saying who you are or what you think (option appears at end of donation form).
About us:
In pre-democracy South Africa, it was common at rallies of pro-democracy struggle parties to hear the cry "Amandla Awethu!" - Power To Us! Some would say South Africa rode to her democracy on these words.
Project Amanzi Awethu! is two fun loving, wide-eyed young South Africans cycling through Africa to see what life on our beloved continent is really like. We'll be visiting past, current and (with your help!) future Water Project communities to see what access to clean water really means. Why It Matters
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
