The Water Project Giving Tuesday

This Giving Tuesday, Help Mawia's Dream Come True

Your gift will be matched dollar for dollar to bring clean water to Kyethani Secondary School

Mawia, a student at Kyethani Secondary School who dreams of becoming a doctor

Meet Mawia

My name is Mawia. I go to Kyethani Secondary School in Kenya, and every morning I carry water before class. Sometimes there is not enough. Sometimes the water makes me sick. It is hard to learn when I am thirsty or weak.

"I cannot wait to see it and to go to class without worrying about fetching water first and getting sick. One day, I want to become a doctor and help my community live healthier lives."

— Mawia

Our principal told us someone will help build something for our school soon. Something to give us clean water. I am very excited, and my friends are excited too. If our school gets clean water, I could spend my time learning, studying, and thinking about the future instead of walking for water or being sick.

Progress Is Already Starting

My name is Alex, and I am part of the team working at Kyethani Secondary School in Kenya. I have been visiting Mawia and her classmates as we prepare for a new water system.

We are measuring rooftops for gutters, checking where tanks will go, and talking with students about washing their hands safely. You can see their excitement. They can almost imagine water flowing from the tank's tap instead of carrying jerrycans every morning.

"Now, we need your help to make this real. Giving early matters because it shows Mawia and her friends that the promise is on its way."

— Alex Koech, Southeast Kenya Project Team

On Giving Tuesday, people everywhere will join together to help. Your early gift starts the journey today.
