"Before the water project was complete getting water was not easy. I would have to use a donkey to access the few available water points in the village and ferry water back home. Sometimes the number of people at the source would be many, which would take time before filling all my containers as the water was from river scoop holes and sometimes from a community earth dam," said Syanda Mutia.
"Water is now available from within a stone's throw distance from my home. It only takes my children and me less than 20 minutes to draw water and carry it back home. Having water from a place near helps me improve personal cleanliness as clothes are washed more often with enough water. The family compound is also clean, and I can plant more trees within my compound."

"Through the availability of water from this water project, I have started a kitchen garden at my home where I grow vegetables for my family. This is helping in the changing of eating habits and creating a healthy family. I plan to establish a personal, commercial tree nursery that will help me generate income through tree sales."
