Help Fund a Water Project
Hello everyone, over the past year I have become increasingly interested in pursuing a philanthropic cause. Watching my grandparents charitable efforts on helping provide clean water in Africa has inspired me to pursue an independent effort so I can do my part to help. I started small with donating to small school projects, and other smaller less focused causes and decided it's time to go bigger. Last year, I did an in-depth research paper on the benefits of clean water initiatives in Africa. The benefits include:
• Reduces waterborne illnesses
• Students can focus on school instead of getting water for their families
• Increases farming opportunities
• Helps break the cycle of poverty
Through my research I have chosen thewaterproject.org because they are a non-profit organization that shows the follow through that I'm looking for. They have raised over $2.5 million through individual campaigns and have helped 116,533 people get clean water.
Now this is where I'm asking for your help. With a few simple changes in your daily recycling routine we CAN make a difference. I am hoping to take the cans that you are already recycling, and turn it into cash donations for the water project. All I am asking is for you to set aside your aluminum cans for me to collect weekly or as needed.
Now, I want to make this as easy and convenient for you as possible. Let me know if I need to provide anything for you like garbage bags or bins. If this is something you are willing to do we can arrange specific pick up details.
While your donations through your cans is perfectly substantial, online donations are greatly appreciated. Depending on the region and circumstance a single project can cost more than $12,000. So I'm kicking off my campaign with a starting goal of $10,000. I know it's ambitious but I know with your help this is achievable.

Why It Matters
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
