Solar Pump 
Solar water systems use energy from the sun to power a low-maintenance submersible (underground) electric pump. The solar-powered pump is ideal for pulling water from an already-existing source without the input of human energy and for transporting it to a more convenient location.
Rainwater Catchment 
A rainwater catchment collects and stores the rain a community already receives. We channel rainfall off a large, clean surface, usually a roof, through gutters and a filtered inlet into a high-capacity tank sized to the local population and rainfall. Sealed in the tank, the water stays clean and usable for months, carrying families through the dry season. It is a practical way to make the most of every rain, made possible by your partnership.

Sand Dam 
A sand dam is a reinforced concrete wall built across a seasonal riverbed. As the rains flow, sand builds up behind it and stores water beneath the surface, safe from evaporation, recharging the water table so nearby hand-dug wells stay full long after the river has dried. It is one of the most durable and cost-effective ways to hold water in dry regions, and with your partnership it keeps serving a community season after season.

Protected Spring 
Springs are water sources that come from deep underground, where the water is filtered through natural layers until it is clean enough to drink. Once the water pushes through the surface of the Earth, however, outside elements like waste and runoff can contaminate the water quickly. We protect spring sources from contamination with a simple waterproof cement structure surrounding layers of clay, stone, and soil. This construction channels the spring’s water through a discharge pipe, making water collection easier, faster, and cleaner. Each spring protection also includes a chlorine dispenser at the waterpoint so community members can be assured that the water they are drinking is entirely safe.

Hygiene and Sanitation Training 
For many communities, water is only the beginning. When every drop has to be rationed, the things that keep people healthy, like bathing, cleaning, and handwashing, fall away, and where school was out of reach, the basics usually taught in health class were never learned. Water alone can’t solve this, which is why your gift also funds hands-on training in every community, school, and health center we serve. We tailor each session to the region, but always cover the essentials: safe water handling and storage, personal and environmental hygiene, how disease spreads, how to form and run a water user committee, and how to operate and maintain the new water point. The goal is simple: to put people back in charge of their own health, so growth and development can begin.
Borehole Well and Hand Pump 
A borehole well reaches clean water stored deep underground. We drill down through soil and rock to groundwater that natural layers have already filtered, then build a platform and fit a handpump so families can draw water up close to home. It is a safe, protected source that replaces long walks to open water, and with your partnership it is cared for long after it is installed.
