The American Girl Camp at the Middleburg Community Center is taking part in The Water Challenge this week to learn about water access issues around the world.
A 13 year old girl from Iowa collects over 2,000 pop cans and raises enough money to help over 100 people get access to clean water.
Work is almost complete on the well replacement at the Precious Academy in Makunga – near Kakamega – in Western Kenya.
A new well is now under construction at the Kimangeti Secondary School and will serve over 1,500 students.
Construction has begun on the Shiambula Community Well which will serve 1,650 people in Western Kenya.
Construction has begun on the Butenje Primary School Well which will serve about 1,900 people, including 980 students.
Construction has begun on the Musungururu Community Well which will serve about 1,700 people in Western Kenya.
